but I also love going to movies, flirting, discovering music, being theatrical, sleepover's, making impulsive decisions, being forward thinking, being a rebel, pissing people off on the internet, trolling with friends, going to concerts, shopping, spreading information, alone time occasionally,
studying random bits and pieces, Music theory to piano works, to Social Issues to Alice In Wonderland to teaching to TV shows..
Watching too much TV, favorites include: Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother, The Nanny, Big Bang Theory, 2 Broke Girls, Revenge 2011, Terra Nova, Suits, Black Adder, Criminal Minds, Bones, Castle, and Burn Notice
My favourite movies are Fight Club and Sucker Punch. This makes no sense to me! I go crazy without 'em.

Two of us
interviews BY Effie Mann
You're the voice … Rachael Leahcar with Delta Goodrem. Photo: Sahlan Hayes SHZ
Singer Rachael Leahcar, 19, who is legally blind, rose to fame last year on reality TV show The Voice with the help of her mentor Delta Goodrem, 28. The pair have since toured together and now share a trans-continental friendship that spans Adelaide and Los Angeles.
Delta's story
There was electricity in the room when Rachael came out onto that stage during the auditions for The Voice. In that moment the stars were aligned. I felt I was looking back; there was an element of myself in Rachael, her spirit and energy spoke to me straight away. When Rachael told the judges, "I don't know if anybody turned around", because she couldn't see us, I got really emotional because I knew she was about to experience something phenomenal. But I also knew that after that moment people were going to be really hard and I wanted to protect her. I look back at the innocence I had at Rachael's age - it's making me well up now - that innocence you have when you first start, and then people become so hard-core on you.
She said the cutest thing to me when we were touring together. She was on stage and was like, "Everybody, wave your hands!" And she walked off stage and asked me, "Were people doing it?" My heart just broke and I said to her, "Everyone was doing it and it was amazing!"
We all have our challenges and Rachael deals with hers incredibly well, but no doubt there are moments when she's frustrated. I'm sure it's hard.
My relationship with Rachael feels sisterly, but I've always looked at it as a cross between friendship and championship. We check in with each other, and we toured together last year.
It's hard, but when I think of Rach I'll send her a text. I saw her the other day on morning TV and texted her: "Good luck!" She's got my US and Aussie numbers.
Rach and I, and our mums, caught up in Adelaide and that was fun. But we're both busy women; we don't have to be hanging out having coffee to be connected, and for her to know that I'm with her in spirit. If Rachael called me at 3am and said, "I need you here", I'd be like, "Cool, let me just put on some track pants."
Rachael is a lot smarter than people probably understand. She's the secret funny girl and we're both a little bit wicked in our sense of humour.
Rachael doesn't like people being mean to me. I'm so used to it, it's just boring now. But I do speak about social media to my artists. I tell them, "Don't read it, don't look at it, it's unhealthy." Who better to speak about it than me - for some reason I seem to evoke a lot of conversation.
We've come full circle - mine was the first concert Rachael ever went to. Actually, it's funny because Rachael got in trouble from somebody in front of her because she was singing the songs too loud. On my latest tour I was like, "I'm just warning whoever was sitting in front of Rachael in 2005 telling her to be quiet, it's not okay!"
Now I'm going to her show, and I'll be the one cheering really loud.
Rachael's story:
I actually thought I might go with Seal before I went on stage, but there was something special about Delta in that moment. When I met Delta she was like a whirlwind - she's so passionate about life and music, she has an aura about her. I was surprised how approachable she was, how down to earth. And she's so funny.
Delta has a lot of confidence and radiance but, more and more, I'm finding that she does have a vulnerable side, too. She's very trusting and she gives everything to everybody and sometimes doesn't get a lot back in return. The public don't always see that and it's really upsetting. I defend her all the time, even on social media, though it probably won't make much difference.
Thanks to Delta, I have someone to go to if I ever need advice, and that relaxes me. She's really taught me about connecting with people, regardless of not being able to see them.
During one of the live shows I thought I'd do something fun and spontaneous and get everyone to wave their arms. It's hard to put so much enthusiasm into something that maybe no one in the crowd is even doing! But Delta was so reassuring.
Out of the blue she'll get in touch and say, "How you doing? How's your family?" I always send her little jokes. I'll text her: "Why did you put those two together? Are you mad?" - because she put two of my favourite singers in the battle round. Or "You look gorgeous on TV but what's with the earrings?", even though she looks gorgeous all the time.
Meeting in Adelaide, it was still very new and exciting just to be having coffee with Delta, who I'd idolised for so long. I remember the text that she sent saying: "I'm not sure if this is Rachael's phone but do you want to have coffee tomorrow morning?" And I was like, "Is this a prank?"
It was so unbelievable. I'm still not even sure where she got my number!
I've always wanted a sister. If I had more time, I'd have a movie night and sleepover with her. Unfortunately we're hardly ever in the same place at the same time; that's why it's so lucky that she's available to come to my concert.
I usually just look at my fan page and see what my true followers are thinking, but last year I was getting blow after blow [on social media]. I texted Delta in tears and she told me that the critics are just people unhappy with their own lives.
A lot of people think what they say and write about Delta will never come back to her. It's a bit of tall-poppy syndrome - people are jealous and find it hard to believe someone could be that beautiful and be such a good person. I know Delta's very strong, but she is still a human being - she's not a stone and she does get affected.
The gossip, the stuff about Seal, it's just funny, she laughs about it. But last year what people were saying was horrendous and it enraged me.
I think I would have got kicked off the show a lot earlier if I was with Seal, simply because I didn't have that kind of connection with him. I would have worked hard, but Delta gave me so much and she took me on tour with her. I'm not sure Seal would have taken me on tour!
Last year I was in a state of shock and awe every time I was around Delta, so I felt like I couldn't really be myself, but now I've become much more comfortable. Though I admit I still get a little bit star-struck.
Rachael Leahcar’s album, Romantique, has just been released. Delta Goodrem is a judge on The Voice.

Really enjoy little impromptu snippets into life.
I love how Delta's taste is just good pop music and some 90's/80's stuff from when she was younger. No elitism there!

I do hope for her sake that it does happen soon and one day she can have the space to fully make the music she wants and be fully recognised for it, her record company at the moment sound truly awful. she's still young though so im sure she can make it happen and its good she is doing so much for her fans.
and her music is SO GOOD. Agape has been one of my most played albums of recent months, and Cant' Take That Away From Me also has it's moments (Pretty Please, In The Dark, Boy Without a Heart, All I Want Is Everything)
So glad Delta isn't in that sort of scenario, those she has gotten pretty close a few times, (How many times was COTU pushed back) and with the COTU era already being over, so anxious!
The Veronicas also have been suffering similar problems.
I put my hand up for songwriter, producer, music video director/conceptulist and general Personal Coach/Cheerleader roles!

She did a stupid thing.
Delta doesn't need to be coddled, this is small compared to the outrage which happened with Brian years ago...

Seal goes on & on about The Vultnable this year. It's quite predatory if you think about it & remember his 'winner' last year.

Naked looking

and I don't think I've been overly negative. The only thing I've been frustrated with is the lack of direction her career has at the moment. She's on the highest rating TV show in the country, yet she refuses to promote herself and her music. She blew it last year and looks to be doing the same thing this year. Pouring time and energy into pointless duets with irrelevants won't further her career like she so desperately wants, it'll just delay things even further.
I only want her to succeed, like we all do
Delta drives me nuts all the time. Over the lack of direction thing.
The word is Realistic, gotta be realistic with known knowledge about actual exercises and experiences which we know are happening.
Dammit, if we were mind readers I'd been so much more keener for Child Of the Universe and way more patient ![]()

^ why. i mean i like that they are continuing with the international guests, i think that'll become a drawcard to people watching results show... but i thought with a show called "the voice" that they would aim for higher integrity...
like who?
I mean, be realistic, for Australia (Bottom of the world, a LONG way away) and getting down here and effort vs reward....

Delta is by FAR the best judge, and that's not being biased. She actually gives critique and judges the performances in a constructive way so the artist can learn and improve. The same cannot be said for the other 3. They truly are useless. Between the gross flirting, all the thank yous, congratulations, god bless yous and I've got no words for that, it's embarrassing.
It's incredible, Seal used to be the the wordy one, but now he's almost lost all his power of speech.
I like Joel's persona.
Ricky is getting better.
but as a purely who's of the most use to the contestants, Delta wins it allllllllllll
