Single sales in Australia right now are actually at an all-time high. They hit an all-time low before the digital era around 2005-06, when tracks like 'Run It!' by Chris Brown were able to make it to #1 by selling only 6000 or so units. Nowadays, you have to sell *at least* 25,000 to make #1.

These sales in fact have been so great that Australia is now the 6th biggest music market worldwide, jumping ahead of Canada.

Considering Australian music has been lacking from the charts it's nice to see Delta and Reece up there. Also Kate Miller-Heidke's new album dubuted at number two. Missy Higgins is releasing again also after 5 years and the Temper Trap is releasing their 2nd album.. Yay for Aussie Music

I hope that she decides to release her second single before the album hits stores. This could help to build anticipation for the new album, so it can get a strong chart debut and it will also encourage fans to buy the single, and buy the song again when they purchase the album. Delta has also been away from the charts for a few years now and becuase of this it could help her in the long run when releasing music not only in Australia but over-seas as well. Can't wait to see what Goodrem and her team have in store!

I still think Delta will land at #2 (at worst #3) on the chart this week, provided how much movement has been going on in the #2-10 range.
