Haha!

Hoping "Sitting on Top of the World" will be on the charts for at least 10 weeks in Top 10. That could beat her last single by at least one week which could help her when she starts promotion in the U.K.! While she is in the U.K. she could very well release the second single (with a music video) at home during that time riding out the good feed-back from "Sitting on Top of the World." I think the instores have helped her greatly and I can already see that this era will be very different from 2007. With Vince by her side I can see her making a bigger impact then she did in 2007 and 2008!

10 weeks ain't happening Posted Image

I don't expect that to happen! I was shocked it even made it to number two!
Haha! I personally don't like the song and believe that she could do much better for a first single!
(I.E. In This Life) I don't listen to the song however, I do like "Uncovered" and hope that the album is closer to that song more then "Sitting on Top of the World" only becuase that song reminds me of a song made for children's music tapes! (sorry!) that is just my opinion! However, I was surprised with "Uncovered" and am looking forward to the new album after hearing such a beautiful song! But that is just my opinion!

A #2 debut is fantastic considering the competition. It's just unfortunate Call me maybe doesn't seem to be waining. Also according to auspop, 'Delta Goodrem's 15 times platinum 'Innocent Eyes' re-enters the top 100 at No.97.' :)

I agree it is a spectacular achievement and it is so wonderful that "Innocent Eyes" has made such a come-back after all these years. That is such a magnificent feat and much deserved!

ARIA top 10 singles chart has been updated.

3. Never Let Me Go - Florence + the Machine
4. Starship - Nicki Minaj
5. Lego House - Ed Sheeran
6. One Thing - One Direction (the band's appearance at the Logie Awards did not help sales)
7. Earthquake - Labyrinth featuring Tinie Tempah
8. We Are Young - fun featuring Janelle Monae
9. What Makes You Beautiful - One Direction
10. Wild Ones - Flo Rida featuring Sia

Sitting on Top of the World is also:

What metrics are used which make being #1 on the Australian singles chart different from being #1 on the Aria charts?

Sorry I mean the Australian artists chart. Delta is the Australian artist with the highest position on the overall singles chart.

Enrique Iglesias - Tonight (Im Lovin You) - #3 - 16/01/2011
Lady Gaga - Born This Way - #1 - 27/02/2011
Rihanna - We Found Love - #3 - 9/10/2011
Reece Mastin - Good Night - #1 - 04/12/2011
Justin Bieber - Boyfriend - #5 - 08/04/2012
Delta Goodrem - Sitting On Top Of The World - #2 - 22/04/2012

A better statistic is that only 5 songs have debuted in Top 5 in the past 16 months - Delta makes it 6.

It's probably a given now that number one wont happen this time with SOTOTW... which isnt the end of the world ... i dont know anything about Reece but i gather he is one of the more successful reality show winners so his fanbase will be broad and really he is now more likely a number one contender this week.. if Delta could secure #3 or #4 next week that would be great.. im confident with the Voice she wont suffer a huge drop like the 3 singles from Delta after ITL... #3 or #4 next week will be a good result

I havent given up yet. My opinion is that Delta is on TV tonight and tomorrow and that should help the song. I think Delta may go back to #2 after tonight and hopefully take over Carly Rae on Friday - I dont think thats TOO far of a stretch.

People will be talking about Delta on next weeks show - I almost died when she walked out because of how hot she looked haha

Sony was so stupid releasing Reece's new song a week after Delta's, especially seeing how keen they were for Delta to get that #1.

^ I think the original plan was to release on March 30 so its more Delta's fault than Sonys. But I'm glad Delta's team waited to release April 15, she wouldve have had a very shit debut otherwise.

I think debuting at number 2 is great!
I think it's really hard to re enter the music scene successfully after about 5 years without a release. I also think staying power in the charts is also a strong indication of success and hopes it stays high longer than songs like believe again (I definitely think it deserves to be- its much more like able and radio friendly IMO)

I hope call me maybe does drop soon! However, I heard she's on a promotional tour at the end of April? So despite most fans already downloading the song, I think it'll be a while before the song drops. I'm already sick of it!

If we can trust this (http://www.digitalsa...p?Region=143460) Delta is close to being #2 again which - if you take into account Friday, Saturday and Sunday where Delta was at #2 would definitely put her at #2 for the entire week which is quite exciting :)
