Voice to premiere on Sunday April 15 same as Logies

So I stand on this hill
With my flag held high
With the will to survive
Bullets flying by
Broken hears scattered on this battlefield
Holding out for something real
I won't give up
I won't give in
I fight for hope in this
WAR ON LOVE

Nine can only hope it won't go the same way as The Renovators (on page 2 of this thread I mentioned the program was sandwiched between the MasterChef finale last year and the backlash was huge).

One can only hope Johnson. I don't think it will though. It may even be good. Will be good for ratings I guess for the Voice anyway!

Johnson - I think theres a BIG difference. Its not as if everyone is going to be on the edge of their seat to watch the Logies after the Red Carpet - it will be advertised that The Voice is on before the Logies so theres no real disappointment if you know what I mean.

I think the plan is to get The Voice on before the Dancing With The Stars and Masterchef (so it is not in direct competition) because DWTS and Masterchef will be up agains the Logies. I think Channel Nine will win the night because that will be an impressive schedule :)

A bit of topic. But see it as a warmup for the Voice Australia. :)
The first ever winner of the voice kids. From yesterday's final.

That's pretty tough competition but NINE has won my viewing for the evening :D

I just heard that The Voice would debut on April 15 at 6.30pm, with current affairs program 60 Minutes off for the week. The Voice will now have Nine News as lead-in so it should get excellent figures against Sunday Night on Seven and The Biggest Loser on Ten. Early prediction for The Voice (5-city metro audience) is 1.5 million viewers.
EDIT: Seven will probably replace Sunday Night with the premiere of Dancing with the Stars in the timeslot.

I think the 1.5 million viewers should be correct. The first episode here had 1.7 million vieuwers (based upon our population of 16.6 million about 3.5 million more than your 5-city metro audience)
For the second episode it should go over 2 million as it did here. (the averige here for the first season was 2.6 million)
My guess The Voice Australia will get around 2.2-2.3 million on averige.

^^ I'm sure it'll be uploaded, they usually do :)

If I had a dvd recorder I would :D

Even if all the contestants suck I'll watch every episode and just mute the singing, lol :D

I love pretty much all music related reality shows, so this will be great!!!
Stay Classy :)

Interesting article from The Sydney Sun-Herald today (p74). Here is an excerpt:

It's not just the scales and vocal training on the set of The Voice that is creating noise. The Channel Nine reality contest has become a hotbed of intrigue and gossip.
Whispers began before production had even started, US websites in a lather splashing no names, no pack drill-style speculation about songstress Delta Goodrem, rumoured to be having a liaison with a fellow judge.
With the newly-single Seal, the married Keith Urban and the married but living solo in Sydney Joel Madden her fellow panellists, fingers were pointed and names were tossed. Publicists also began to stamp feet and send threatening emails.
Just as those rumours quietened, talk about the show's host, self-confessed pants man Darren McMullen, sprang. He was reportedly asked by producers to pipe down on set and respect the more mature talent he is around.
Could it be McMullen's over-exuberance isn't just his excitement at hosting the show. Maybe it's simply a case of raging endorphins. Sources say the host was spotted dining with Goodrem at Neild Avenue (at Sydney suburb of Paddington) last Friday night, the pair apprently looking extremely cosy in the dim lighting.
"Absolutely not," said a friend close of Delta's. "They have been friends for years. It's so off the mark it's not funny, she hasn't even been single for a second. Give her a break."
Whatever the case, McMullen sent out a text to mates earlier this week asking them to please "shush-up thankyouverymuch" about his private life.
