The Amazing Race, the Emmy-award winning reality travel competition series, is back for another season in 2012. The 20th season features eleven teams of two, each with a pre-existing relationship, in a race around the world.
This season spans 40,000 miles (64,000 km) in twenty-two cities and five continents, with first-time visits to Paraguay and Azerbaijan. Visits to Argentina, Tanzania, Italy, and Germany are also confirmed for this season.
The cast includes former Big Brother US contestants Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly as well as Major League Soccer player Andrew Weber and professional golfer Maiya Tanaka who previously appeared on the Golf Channel's reality competition The Big Break. It also includes a pair of federal agents, married clowns, United States Border Patrol agents, and dating divorcees.
Like the previous season, Season 20 of TAR will be fasttracked by Channel Seven and shown at 9.30pm Wednesdays from February 22, two days after the US broadcast. The bad news is that, since the series will be shown on the main channel, it will not be broadcast in HD (Season 18 was broadcast on Seven's HD channel 7mate).
