Delta Goodrem signs with Marc Jordan's Rebel One management who launched Rihanna's career
DELTA Goodrem has enlisted the skills of the same music manager that launched the career of Rihanna as she prepares to release her first album in close to five years.
The Believe Again songstress – who at last count had sold five million albums worldwide – has signed up with New York-based Marc Jordan, owner of the Rebel One management company that gave Ri Ri and other mostly R’n'B artists their start.
“We had a meeting and we just hit it off right away – he’s a great guy,” Goodrem told Confidential.
“He’s going to come out here next week.”
After splitting with fiance Brian McFadden last year, Goodrem also parted ways with her long-term manager, ex-Sony Music publicist Jo Grogan, who now solely looks after McFadden.
Goodrem’s choice to partner with Jordan – who Rihanna replaced with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Management in 2010 following a string of hits – reflects talk that her upcoming fourth studio album will have a “much different” sound to her other efforts.
“I’ve had it finished for so long and I’ve been inviting people over to my house to listen to it so I can ask what they think,” she said. “I just can’t wait to get it out there.”
Celeb blogger Perez Hilton has already given some of the material his tick of approval.
While the name and the release date of the album are yet to be revealed, the first single is likely to debut on Nine’s The Voice, which starts filming next week with Goodrem, Seal, Keith Urban and Joel Madden as the “coaches”.
Goodrem is still dating Nick Jonas, who is currently appearing on Broadway.
