I just discovered Lana Del Rey. I had heard a lot of hype about her so was interested in checking her out. My first impression was that her voice is very deep, low for a woman and her range doesn't reach any great heights. Her live performances are quirky, very interesting but to those who don't really have a broad music range and have listened to a wide variety of artist's music would say she can't sing for shit and that she sucks. However, I personally find her music style refreshing in the sense that it's not generic and something different to listen to. Anyway I downloaded her album 'Born To Die' and there's some great songs on this album. Everyone's opinion will differ about Lana.

Standout tracks for me were - Born To Die, Off To The Rsaces, Blue Jeans, Video Games, Diet Mountain Dew, Dark Paradise, Summertime Sadness, Lucky Ones. Each song was well produced in my opinion, something I want Delta's new album to have, lots of power in the music, strings, haunting melodies etc. Each song had me intrigued. Lyrically, the album was quite bizarre but that just goes with her quirky nature I find, I may not understand it but like that she provides something different. Some songs however almost sounded identical, her voice can be interpreted as like having a bad headache lol, but it's a very melodramatic album, perfect for the moods when you're not in the best mood. Worth a listen for sure. Would love to hear other people's thoughts...
