Note: MotoGP was shown live on Ten in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and on One in Adelaide and Perth. It was replayed on Ten in Adelaide and Perth at 11.30pm.

With the absence of The Voice, it was a close battle between Seven and Nine, ending with Seven winning in primary channels and combined shares. The Block did very well for Nine (it was the most-watched program of the night), boosting the figures for 60 Minutes, however the numbers were well down from The Voice's 2.7 million last week. The return of The Mentalist and Unforgettable attracted mediocre figures.
DWTS continued its rise, its task made easier with The Voice out of the way, but it skewed very old. Bones won its timeslot easily. The AFL did well in Adelaide and Perth but not in Melbourne.
Most of Ten's line-up enjoyed a rebound from the lows of the past two Sundays, especially TBL, Modern Family and New Girl, but Touch was down on last week and MotoGP flopped in three cities.

The Voice defied the overseas trend (that ratings drop when the show moves from blind auditions to battle rounds and live shows) and posted another monster total, helping Nine to another big win. It peaked at 3.2 million in five major cities and 4.253 million if regional areas were added.
Person of Interest got a substantial boost from The Voice lead-in, but since the reality show ran 20 minutes overtime, the figures for POI will be marked down by the end of the week.
Seven came distant second for the night. AGT was trounced by The Voice for the sixth time in three weeks, dropping below the one million once more. However Revenge was steady from last week and held its own against The Voice. It will be interesting to see if visits by the drama's stars and real-life lovers Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman can boost the ratings down the track. Pictures of You dropped from last week also.
Ten suffered another ratings humiliation with its primary share less than a quarter of that for Nine. There was encouraging sign for The Project with the 6.30pm half getting close to 700,000 viewers.

Led again by The Voice, Nine enjoyed another big win last night. However, The Voice's 2.26 million was the second lowest audience in its series' short history, just above 2.19 million for the premiere episode. It could partly be due to the show being two hours long and finishing at 10.18pm. Nine claimed the top three shows – The Voice, The Block and 2 Broke Girls – in key advertising demographics 18-49 and 16-39.
Seven lost its third Tuesday in a row, for the first time since May 2009. AGT rose from Monday's lows but still came second in its timeslot. Packed to the Rafters recorded the lowest ratings in its history last night, copping the full brunt of The Voice. New US drama Missing (starring Ashley Judd) had a modest debut. For the week Nine leads Seven by more than 9%, and Seven still has a remote chance of winning the week if its line-up for the rest of the week stand up. AGT and a special episode of Revenge should rate well tonight.
Ten's decision to show a NCIS tripleheader against The Voice backfired spectacularly last night. The new episode, showing at the earlier time of 8pm, posted a new series low in Australia. The two repeat episodes which followed also rated dismally. Ten finished the night with a primary share of only 11.4%.

New episodes of AGT, Revenge and Castle (the latter two on a special night) helped Seven winning the night easily, but Nine still leads the week by more than 5% in combined shares.
New ABC game show Randling, hosted by Andrew Denton, had a solid start, doubling the audience for the season finale of Adam Hills in Gordon Street Tonight last week. However, reactions on Twitter had been mostly negative, so ratings for Randling are expected to drop next week.
Offspring fell from last week's low premiere figures, coming third in its timeslot behind AGT/Revenge and Randling.

Nine had a surprise win last night, with the NRL outrating the AFL.
The new version of Young Talent Time ended with an audience of 420,000 for the Grand Final, up from last week but well down on the 1 million who watched the first episode back in late January.

Finally some joy for Ten with the successful return of MasterChef Australia. The reality cooking series was the fourth most-watched show of the night and the first Ten show to attract 1.3 million viewers in 2012 (Modern Family, New Girl and Homeland hit 1.2 million mark in early February), even though the figures were down on all 3 past seasons:

Season 1 (April 27, 2009):
MasterChef Australia - Audition 1 Ten 1,426,000 442,000 412,000 258,000 147,000 167,000
Season 2 (April 19, 2010):

Season 3 (May 1, 2011):
MASTERCHEF AUSTRALIA - LAUNCH Ten 1,569,000 472,000 486,000 252,000 166,000 194,000

MC was top show in 16-39 and 18-49, ahead of The Block. The Block beat MasterChef in 25-54.
Seven won in primary channels but Nine won in combined shares thanks to good performances by Gem and GO!. Seven News was the most-watched program of the night (thanks to a massive audience of 324,000 in Perth, benefiting from the AFL match between West Coast and North Melbourne) but lost by big margins in Sydney and Melbourne. DWTS went up on last week but could only get 1.11 million. Bones hit the one million mark and won its timeslot easily.
TBL made a late surge with the finale approaching, however Touch failed to benefit from MC lead-in and came third in the timeslot behind Bones and Midsomer Murders repeat.
The Block and 60 Minutes did very well for Nine but it all went downhill from 8.30pm onwards with The Mentalist and CSI: Miami (replacing Harry's Law) rating poorly.
Machu Picchu Decoded was SBS's most-watched program of the night, making into the top 20.

Nine won its second night in a row thanks to The Block and The Voice's final battle round. The Voice, now screening only once a week, commanded another massive audience, peaking at 2.902 million. It suffered a big fall in Sydney from last week but was steady in other cities.
MasterChef suffered a big drop in its second night of season 4, against the established reality shows The Block and The Voice. MC dropped to 996,000 (according to scheduled time) or 1.012 million (according to actual airtime), mirroring the fall in season 1 in 2009. MC shed almost 40 per cent of its audience when comparing the viewer numbers for the same time last year.
The Block, which ran from 7pm to 7.30pm rated 1.44m. While head to head, MasterChef averaged 925,000. This rose to an average of 1.1m, peaking at 1.38m, during the beginning of The Voice.
The rest of Ten's line-up, including the season finale of Bondi Rescue and the Hawaii Five O-NCIS LA crossover (which did so well in the US last week), was slaughtered by the opposition.
The Price is Right made a triumphant return to the TV screen, pulling more than 500,000 viewers for Seven in its new 5pm timeslot. It provided a huge boost to Deal or No Deal, achieving its highest total in more than a year. Seven had mixed results in primetime. While Revenge held up well against The Voice, Highway Patrol was trounced by MC and The Voice, while Pictures of You posted a respectable total at 9.30pm, coming second to Person of Interest.

The finale of Ten's weight loss show The Biggest Loser rated with 1.365 million when Margie Cummins was declared winner last night.
The final night, which aired for an hour and a half from 8pm, pulled in 1.348m for the show. It won the night overall, and in every key demographic, 25-54, 16-39 and 18-49. However, ratings were down from last year, when 1.682 million tuned in to watch the final night and 1.555 million watched the announcement of the winner on a Monday night in May.
With MasterChef pulling another 1 million viewers, Ten had its best performance of the year to date but was still unable to win the night. The honour went to Seven (its first Tuesday win in four weeks) with solid ratings for its line-up of Border Security, The Force, Packed to the Rafters and double episodes of Missing. The Price is Right suffered a big drop on its second day, dragging down the figures for Deal or No Deal.
After dominating past three weeks with The Voice and The Big Bang Theory, Nine crashed to third place last night. The Block slipped without the lead-out to The Voice, while TBBT fell to 1.1 million after reaching as high as 1.6 million two weeks ago.
The Federal Budget coverage did OK for the ABC.

Seven won the night but the audience ratings were not what the network desired. The big three reality shows - AGT, The Block and MC - were separated by 140,000 viewers, each attracting just over one million viewers. AGT lost 140,000 viewers from last week as the show entered the semi final stage. Bones did even worse, shedding 280,000 viewers from Sunday's first-run episode.
MC was steady from Tuesday. Offspring increased its audience by 25% on last week, winning the timeslot in 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54 demographics.
The Price is Right continued to slip but DOND beat Hot Seat.
Randling slumped from last week's premiere, with the ABC having another poor night in ratings.

Despite slump in the ratings for The Block and the penultimate episode of Celebrity Apprentice, Nine still won in primary channels. Seven won the night in combined shares with good contributions from 7TWO and 7mate, but the 90 minute version of Better Homes and Gardens is taking its toll on the night's three dramas, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives and Private Practice.
MasterChef continued to help boost Ten's shares. Last night MC beat The Block in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth. It won the timeslot outright in Sydney and came equal first with ABC News in Adelaide.

The ABC had a great night with half of the night's top 10 most-watched programs, led by New Tricks which claimed the top spot.
Seven won the night thanks to the AFL match between Essendon and West Coast. Seven News however suffered a big loss in Melbourne, not helped by Geelong's heavy defeat at the hands of Adelaide in the afternoon AFL game.

Nine won its fourth week of 2012 ratings season (and its fourth week in a row) thanks to The Voice and a small contribution from Friday night NRL doubleheader from Brisbane.
Nine topped network shares, primary shares, multichannels and demos. Nine has now overtaken Seven in 16-39 and 18-49 in 2012 official ratings weeks (Seven had built up a big lead in 16-39 and 18-49 thanks to My Kitchen Rules and Revenge). Seven remains in front in Total People shares and 25-54.
Seven was first on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday while Nine took Monday and Friday (Seven lost the chance to claim the week when the AFL was outrated by the NRL on Friday). ABC bettered Ten on Saturday and both tied for Monday.
Nine won Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with Seven still victorious in Adelaide and Perth.

Nine dominated from 6pm to 8.30pm with The Block the most-watched program of the night, but another ratings collapse after 8.30pm gave Seven a close win.
Both DWTS and MC returned soft figures. Modern Family and New Girl suffered in their new (and earlier) timeslots.

Another huge figure from The Voice plus solid figures from The Block and the premiere of new Australian drama Tricky Business gave Nine a big win last night. Although The Voice attracted another 2 million viewers, it is the second lowest figure so far of the series and seemingly on a downward trend. The first live show last night received mixed response on social media (there is more on this in The Voice Australia discussion thread). Tricky Business, which followed The Voice, peaked at 2.407 million but averaged only 987,000 from 9.42pm to 10.42pm.
The only Monday night AFL match of the year did OK for Seven but it was trounced by The Voice and MC. The combined audience of 585,000 was lower than last year's 613,000 (475,000 on Ten and 138,000 on One. Last year the match was only shown in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth). It attracted another 258,000 on Fox Footy.

Two drama series (one local, one overseas) made their debuts last night and both started well, winning their respective timeslots.
Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms, from the creators of Underbelly and based on the events (mainly battles between members of two motorcycle gangs) which led to the 1984 Milperra massacre, was the most watched show in the 18-49, 16-39 and 25-54 demographics, and won the 8.30pm time slot against Packed to the Rafters (which was renewed for the sixth season by Seven today) and The Big Bang Theory. The Ten News special on the motorcycle gangs, which aired beforehand, performed solidly. However MC, with a new immunity challenge format, dropped below 1 million mark.
Once Upon a Time, a modern take on classic fairytales with dramatic twists, started well on Seven two days after the series finished in the US. The drama was one of the successful programs from the 2011-12 US TV season and was renewed for the second season by US broadcaster ABC. But would it have attracted a higher audience if it began in late March after the My Kitchen Rules finale (promos for Once Upon a Time began in January)?
The long-delayed local premiere of Survivor: One World (which finished in the US on Sunday) was a ratings disaster, not helped by the 10pm start. It was thrashed by double episodes of Missing (which was cancelled after one season).
Seven won the night comfortably.

Celebrity Apprentice Australia ended its second season last night when former Australian Idol judge Ian "Dicko" Dickson was declared the winner. That segment attracted 1.036 million viewers, well down by nearly 0.6m on last year's finale when 1.6m viewers tuned in to see comedian Julia Morris win. The series, which averaged around 900,000 viewers this year, has already been renewed for 2013. The low audience could be due to the accidental leak of the result by Ninemsn website late Tuesday night.
It was another low-rating Wednesday with the four reality programs getting less than 1.2 million viewers. New episodes of Bones and Castle, on a special night, also struggled to attract viewers.
MasterChef's Wednesday team challenge episode, traditionally one of the show's biggest drawcards, got only 933,000 viewers. Offspring, with its unusually early start time of 8.15pm, lost only 11,000 viewers from last week.
