Following on from its coverage of the London Olympic Games, Nine is hoping to cash in on the huge audience by premiering Big Brother the day after the August 12 closing ceremony. The reality show, originally a hit for Network Ten, will also air in the family-friendly timeslot of 7pm.

'You cannot put risque content, grotty content or inappropriate content on air at seven o'clock at night,' Wiltshire said.

Nine plans to show Big Brother five nights a week for 12 weeks, and Wilshire said any content considered inappropriate for the 7pm timeslot will air in a separate show on its Go channel.
