DELTA Goodrem has split with her manager of nearly five years, Jo Grogan. Music industry sources confirmed the split to the Sunday Herald Sun yesterday.
Grogan manages Goodrem's ex-fiance Brian McFadden.
It's believed the singer wanted to cut ties and make a fresh start as she prepares to relaunch her music career.
She is being courted by a number of big-time managers in the US as she plans her next move.
There is a buzz with Goodrem in the US thanks to her appearances on American shows such as Dancing with the Stars. She is in the final stages of finishing a new album.
On the personal front, things couldn't be going better for Goodrem.
She and new boyfriend Nick Jonas are very much in love and Goodrem has spent more time with her mother Lea Goodrem, who was her manager before Grogan took over.
She has set up home in the Hollywood Hills and has a close circle of friends, including Aussie TV presenter Renee Bargh.

To be honest i was expecting this, seems as though they have unfollowed each other on twitter as well. Their is a nice pic with the article as well.

I guess Jo didn't have the necessary pulling power in the states. Hopefully they're still on good terms, Jo is great. Shame she wasn't kept on to look after her home market

I was shocked to hear this because I have heard about Jo since I became a fan. Maybe there is hard feelings because Jo still manages Brian? But I also wonder if Delta and Jo came to this agreement earlier on and just now releasing the information. But there are a few questions I would like to ask about the article. What is so special about these "Big-Shot U.S. Managers" that Delta feels the need to move with them? And how far in the final stages does "Final Stages" really mean? Because now I feel we have contradictory statements flying around.

Artin, was there any indication when you were contacting Jo and Delta that there may be a parting of the ways?

^ Contacts. A manager with more contacts the better. Since Delta wants to make it big in the US, I'm sure a big US manager has far more contacts than Jo and more experience with the US market.

But if she takes up a manager that is experienced in the USA, what will happen when they try to promote in Australia? Unless she feels confident that if they can crack her into the US market that they can get her back into Australian markets.

Has Jo been her manger for 5 years tho ... wasnt Delta with Modest until her and Brian moved in 2009... or was Jo working with Modest and Delta and Brian moved with her to Echo in 2009... she definetly changed from Modest to Echo in 09

I wonder what happened tho.. as splits go, it wouldnt seem too amicable really if they both remove each other from twitter....

I would like to get excited and think "oh final stages of album" but i dont see it coming until 2012 now, in fact i think it would be so dumb if they rush release it now, maybe only in Australia would it work and i suppose that could get the ground work done there and clear the decks for 2012 to be U S and worldwide release, but to try to crack the US before the end of the year with a rush release would be disastrous..

I dont know much about Jo or Echo... but without being nasty, this is probably for the best, if Delta is based in the states and wants to crack there, this was inevitable, she needs a manager with solid US contacts and who is based there too... so in a way, this can only be good news for her carer there, i hope she gets solid management there , maybe with a company that has multiple international offices so that she can truly go worldwide next time... it just doesnt and hasnt worked having her management based in Australia when she lives in the states and wants to crack there... one focused managment team with international prescence will be far more effective than a host of local management teams dotted over the place... no one will fully take charge of her career then.


Hopefully this will be a fresh start for Delta and lead to a more focused comeback...
