MTV: You’ve just been announced as a mentor on The Voice Australia alongside your pal Delta Goodrem – how did that come about?

Darren: I really love Delta Goodrem, so when she asked if I would be involved I was thrilled and there was some discussion, or some rumours about me being involved in The Voice anyway and I was flattered.

MTV: What can fans expect from her as a judge?

Darren: I’m really thrilled that Australia is going to get to see the person that I know, because she’s actually very funny, and she’s not opposed to take the mickey out of herself and other people. I think sometimes she’s got this image where she’s perfect, and she is kind of perfect, but I think the person she is off camera is actually much more interesting and I think that’s coming through in her new music, and its coming through in her role on The Voice, so I’m thrilled for her.

MTV: She’s set to drop her new album this year - have you heard any of it yet?

Darren: Oh, I can’t say anything about Delta’s record, I’m just excited! She’s been making it for years and I spent some time with her in Los Angeles when she was recording and she just seemed to be writing for ever and ever and ever. I think it’s going to be great.

So excited about the last answer and the statement that her true personality shows in her new music! I mean, Delta songs have always been super personal for me and it's getting even better now? Gah!

agree!! now that u mention it, the snippet does have a very similar sound/feel to Days Go By
