Hoping I'm not speaking too soon, but here's to a forum without Spambots (so far) ! Let's hope the forum will be Spambot free for as long as it can, they were starting to run DGOF, mind you, they were beginning to be the most active members!
So 'touch wood' for a Spambot free forum! :) :yahoo:

Well (as far as I know) it been really good, I only saw one spambot and that was removed really quickly :)

Because of the captcha you have to write down, its hard for spambots to come in :)

Was there a captcha with the last forum? I can't remember cos I joined a long time ago! :)
I hope that the captcha will do it's job on this forum!

how do bots manage to do it though? how do they join when there is no captcha? i'm so confused!

You can program a bot to do anything you want. The forum that Sony had was extremely outdated and while you did need to put a code in when you sign up, it was too easy for the bots to work out what the code was.

I would love to be able to explain how a bot can crack the code but I can't explain it in away that everyone will understand :(

the spambots kept the forum alive while it was slowly dying. Wish I could print screen their posts. One of the members said "The first spam bot that copies and pastes this wins"
And sure enough...one or two did. So funny :lol:
