Delta was on The Today Show this morning performing her smash hit new single ‘Sitting on Top of the World’ (iTunes link) live in the studio and to have a chat about The Voice Australia (7:30pm AEST Mondays on Channel 9) and a little bit about her highly anticipated fourth studio album.

SOMETIMES a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.

Even if that means nuzzling a handsome stranger or falling into a mysterious man’s arms.

Or gathering up a billowing red evening gown and flapping about – Mariah Carey-style – in a stiff sea breeze.

Dressed in a selection of Alex Perry gowns, Delta Goodrem came face to face with her rural Sydney upbringing yesterday while filming a new television commercial for Swisse Vitamins at Sydney’s Little Bay.

She had two co-stars for the all-day shoot and while Confidential would like to imagine there was a little chemistry between single Goodrem and 185cm blue-eyed Melbourne model David Witko, we suspect there may have been a tad more between the singer and her four-legged co-star.

Having grown up in semi-rural Glenhaven, Goodrem, it could fairly well be assumed, may be accustomed to horse wrangling.

Yet there seemed little evidence of it yesterday as she worked to charm her 11-year-old equine counterpart, Drummer, who clearly thought himself more than the singer’s match in the megastar stakes.

Drummer has his own impressive professional resume and once appeared onstage in the production Carmen.

Delta Goodrem has become the most scrutinised woman on Australian TV.

When her music career took her overseas, Delta Goodrem momentarily stepped out of the spotlight in Australia. But 2012 has marked her triumphant return to our screens and radios. Yet her role as a coach on The Voice has been polarising. Now, it seems, even a toss of her famous hair can incite debate. Team Delta supporters have proudly spouted their encouragement on social media, but her critics have been just as outspoken. “She seems all style and little substance. She comes across as bland and contrived,” fumed one.

But far from agonising over less-than-kind comments, the 27-year-old singer remains calm about the furore that surrounds her. Spend time with her, and you quickly realise she has a worldly sensibility you’d expect from someone twice her age. “Anybody who has gone through a life-changing experience will tell you there is a different understanding of what is real and what is important, and when you are going through different moments, you can reflect and go, ‘I have been through worse’.”

Sony Music Australia have announced that Delta’s brand new hit single ‘Sitting on Top of the World’ from her upcoming fourth studio album has gone platinum on the ARIA Single Charts. A big congratulations to Delta!

A Current Affair’s Chris Urquhart went behind-the-scenes of The Voice Australia again for the upcoming Battle Rounds. Delta is interviewed with her mentor on the show and friend, Darren Hayes.

Once the teams are set, the battle is on. Coaches will dedicate themselves to developing their singers, giving them advice, and sharing the secrets of their success. During the battle rounds, the coaches will pit two of their own team members against each other to sing the same song together in front of a studio audience.

After the vocal face-off, the coach must choose which of his/her singers will advance.

At the end of the battle episodes, only the strongest members of each coach’s roster remain and proceed to the live stage shows.

Delta’s brand new hit single ‘Sitting on Top of The World’ (iTunes link) has officially been certified gold on the ARIA Singles Charts. A gold certification in Australia is equal to 35,000 copies, the next step is platinum which is equal to 70,000 copies. The song did however drop one position to #3 since it’s debut at #2 last week.

DELTA Goodrem is the face of Swisse’s new skin care range.

Goodrem, who is back on screens as a coach on Channel 9′s The Voice, filmed a TV commercial for Swisse at a private house in Mornington last week.

As well as the advertising campaign that will be launched during The Voice, Goodrem will be officially launched as the face of the brand at a function in Sydney on May 17.

Goodrem is preparing for the live shows of The Voice, which will start next month.

She was in Adelaide this week visiting her brother Trent.

She also had breakfast with the singer who has captured the most attention on The Voice – visually impaired South Australian Rachael Leahcar.

We were lucky enough to chat to the gorgeous Delta Goodrem this week, and she gave us the goss on her new music, and her life at the moment!

Her new comeback single Sitting On Top Of The World has been going great guns around the country since it was released, and we wanted to know… what is it all about?

Delta told take40.com “Sitting On Top Of The World… (is about being) connected to my world, and I feel that I am very free.”

“I think it’s best to always stand in your truth, and always have those quiet moments where you listen to that little voice.”

We wonder whether that little voice came into play when she was dealing with her breakup with Nick Jonas! It’s always important to listen to the signs!

We also asked about her new show The Voice, on which she is a mentor… and wanted to know as the female rose between three male thorns… who is the biggest flirt out of fellow mentors Seal, Joel Madden and Keith Urban?

Delta paused for a second before revealing “I’m going to have to say Seal! (He’s) incredibly warm… but that’s just his energies.”

She also added “We’re here for music, we’re not there for anything else.”

Delta was just on the Hot 30 Countdown with Matty and Mel tonight to talk about her amazing performance of ‘Sitting on Top of the World’ (iTunes link) at the Logie Awards last night and played a game to see who could hold a note the longest.

THE Voice has roared into contention as the blockbuster hit of 2012, peaking with finale-like ratings figures for its premiere last night.

The Channel 9 talent series built to a massive national (five-city, plus regional) audience of 4.11 million viewers on debut – trouncing its timeslot rivals and delivering on the multi-million dollar promotional budget thrown at the singing franchise.

With the weight of expectation on the much-touted series threatening to put off fans, and competition from Seven’s stalwart celebrity series, Dancing With The Stars, The Voice producers remained nervous about the show’s chances.

They wasted a worry, with the program dominating its timeslot and all demographics to set the highest rating record for a launch show this year and a staggering 42 per cent share of Sunday night’s audience (averaging 2.184 million 5-city metro, including 655,000 viewers in Sydney).

Despite a strong line-up of contestants, including the TV return of Kerri-Anne Kennerley, DWTS settled for 1.076 million viewers (down almost 29 per cent year-on-year, total people).

The Voice proved a strong platform for the Logie Awards coverage, which peaked at 2.764 million viewers, averaging 1.805 million people (5-city metro).

The James Cameron Oscar-winning film, Avatar took a hit on Ten pulling just 553,000 nationally, while Seven’s Inside The Titanic special tanked with just 545,000 viewers.

The reality TV battle continues tonight with The Voice to come up against stiff competition from Seven’s Australia’s Got Talent.

Also returning for Nine is a new season of The Block, which won the Logie race to bag the most popular reality TV program last night.

Delta performed her brand new single ‘Sitting on Top of the World‘ (iTunes link) for the first time on TV at the 54th Annual TV Week Logie Awards in Melbourne on April 15. Delta arrived earlier in the day on the red carpet in a stunning white Ralph Lauren dress and stayed on the red carpet for one hour to sign items for fans and take photos. Hundreds of Delta fans lined up for hours today to catch Delta perform at her first instore at Westfield Plenty Valley in Melbourne today.
