2011 is coming to a close, so we decided to gather up the most important moments, pictures, and videos of 2011 in one single post! 2011 was a great year, but 2012 is going to be even better with Delta’s new music! Thank you for all your support over the past year!
1. Exclusive Interview with Delta Goodrem
Delta Daily was lucky to have a mini exclusive interview with Delta! We asked you to submit questions and picked 8 of the best to ask Delta!
Is there a particular person, place, culturally significant moment or period of time in your life that you constantly draw inspiration from? and if so, do you believe its fair to say that it has ‘shaped your musical style’?
No one moment has done that – Every moment is significant and every moment has added colour to my music and who I am as a person and an artist.You’ve told us that the new album will be “earthy” and “stripped back”. Could you tell us a bit more about it without giving too much more away?
It will be – like the other albums – exactly where i am at right now in life! :) New perspectives, new ideas. New sounds that have inspired me. I write the way I write. There will always be a thread between them but hopefully ever evolving.
2. Official Statement: Delta and Brian End Relationship
After many years, Delta and Brian ended their relationship. The official statement below was released on April 1.
Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden regretfully announce that they are no longer engaged, and after much consideration, have mutually decided to end their relationship. This decision has been made with a lot of soul searching from both parties with the realisation that they have grown apart. They leave the partnership with respect for one and other, wishing each other success and happiness for the future.
Delta and Brian appreciate there will be interest regarding this announcement but request that their time together is respected and they are given privacy during this time of transition.
3. Exclusive Premiere: ‘The Other Delta’ Video – Ending Hunger

4. Delta Performs on Dancing With The Stars US with Michael Bolton
Delta Goodrem and Michael Bolton performed his new song “I’m Not Ready” from Michael’s upcoming album Gems – The Duets Collection on the US Dancing With The Stars show on May 10.
UK singer Adele was set to perform two songs on the show, “Rolling In The Deep” and a cover of “Natural Woman,” However, Adele told the producers that she had problems with her voice and couldn’t hit the high notes in “Natural Woman” so she let Delta perform the song!
5. Delta and Nick Jonas’ First Public Appearance
Delta and Nick Jonas were spotted leaving Arclight Cinema in Los Angeles on May 15. Back then there was a lot of discussion about if they were a couple or not. 7 months later and they’re still going strong.
6. Delta and Michael Bolton perform on NBC’s Today
Delta and Michael Bolton both appeared on NBC’s Today Show in New York (June 20) to perform their new duet I’m Not Ready.
7. Delta Daily Turns 3 + Big Competition
This year Delta Daily turned 3 years old and we held our biggest competition to date… a phone call with Delta herself! Fans had to use Twitter and our forums to enter the competition and the winners were Palm from Thailand and Travis from Sydney, Australia.
8. Delta Cuts Ties with Manager
Delta Goodrem has split with her manager of nearly five years, Jo Grogan. Music industry sources confirmed the split to the Sunday Herald Sun yesterday.
Grogan manages Goodrem’s ex-fiance Brian McFadden.
It’s believed the singer wanted to cut ties and make a fresh start as she prepares to relaunch her music career.
She is being courted by a number of big-time managers in the US as she plans her next move.
There is a buzz with Goodrem in the US thanks to her appearances on American shows such as Dancing with the Stars. She is in the final stages of finishing a new album.
9. Video: Santa’s Apprentice Trailer
Santa’s Apprentice is a heart-warming, animated adventure for the whole family. We follow Nicholas, a 7 year old Australian boy on his adventure as he struggles with the ups and downs of being the next Santa Claus.
10. Recounts: Delta’s Phone Call with the Birthday Competition Winners!
On August 12, 2011 we launched our biggest competition to date! Two lucky winners were to receive a phone call from Delta herself! Delta gave Palm our winner from Thailand a call yesterday (October 4) which lasted 20 minutes! Delta also called our winner Travis from Sydney this morning and you can read his amazing recount below. Travis’ phone call also lasted 20 minutes!

11. Delta Performs at Make-A-Wish’s Monterey Bay Gala
Delta performed at Make-A-Wish’s Monterey Bay Gala on October 22. The event was hosted at Clint and Dina Eastwood’s exclusive Tehama Golf Club in Carmel, California. Also with Delta at the event, was her good friend and fellow songwriter, Vince Pizzinga.
12. Delta Attends the Avon Voices Finale in New York
Delta attended the Avon Voices finale held in New York on November 1 as one of the celebrity judges. Delta and her fellow judges, including: Fergie, Natasha Bedingfield and more judged the performances of the top ten finalists.
13. Delta Attends the Avon Foundation For Women in New York
Delta attended the Avon Foundation for Women gala held at the Marriott Marquis Times Square in New York on November 2.
The Avon Foundation will honor international organisations for their life-saving work in accelerating breast cancer research and access to care and the crusade to end violence against women.
14. Delta Celebrates Her 27th Birthday
On November 9, Delta celeberated her 27th Birthday. Fans from all over the world contributed to an amazing birthday fan video we made with Jahan and Mitch.
15. Delta Arrives Home!
On November 14 Delta finalled arrived back home in Australia! She arrived in Melbourne to a tonne of paparazzi and fans!
16. Delta performs at the opening of Hilton’s Surfers Paradise hotel
Delta attended the opening of the new Hilton Hotel in Surfers Paradise, Queensland on November 16. Delta performed at the hotel’s pool deck with more than 200 VIP guests including Australia’s Next Top Model Charlotte Dawson, radio presenter Lizzie Lovette, Bondi Rescue’s Dean Gladstone and hotel ambassador and TV personality Liz Cantor.
Delta sang many songs including: In This Life, Together We Are One and a cover of Gotye’s Somebody That I Used To Know.
17. Delta Speaks at National Young Leaders Day in Sydney
Delta spoke at the National Younger Leaders Day event in Sydney held by the Halogen Foundation. The National Young Leaders Day is an annual event founded in 1997 to develop strong leadership values amongst young Australians. The Program consists of keynote talks, multi media presentations and interactive learning that seeks a range of specific outcomes for young people who aspire to lead themselves & others well.

18. Confirmed: Delta to be a coach on Australia’s The Voice
Channel Nine held it’s programming launch on November 23 and confirmed that Delta will be a coach on The Voice. The Voice is a reality talent show based on The Voice of Holland. Also confirmed to be coaches on the show: Keith Urban, Joel Madden and Seal.
19. Delta Performs at the 25th ARIA Awards
Delta arrived at the 25th ARIA Awards looking amazing on the red carpet and taking time to take photos with her fans. When inside Delta performed the song ‘The Day You Went Away’ by Wendy Matthews to remember those we lost in the industry over the past 25 years. Delta then presented the awards for Best Female and Best Male artist.

21. Delta Tours the Construction of the Kinghorn Cancer Centre
Delta toured the construction of the Kinghorn Cancer Centre on November 30. Delta said, “It’s something so phenomenal and evolutionary, and the fact we will have such an amazing and incredible facility here in Sydney is so important to me. To have such a personal connection, and fact that the actual centre is about personalised medicine is truly incredible.”
